The Jury of 35th MIFF announced the names of the winners
June 29, 2013 The 35th Moscow International Film Festival reached completion. The official ceremony of closing witnessed the distribution of the festival main prizes. The awards went to filmmakers from Turkey, Japan, South Korea, Russia and Poland. 16 films participated in the main competition. The main award «Golden George» goes to the film «Particle» (Turkey).
Opening the ceremony Nikita Mikhalkov congratulated Georgiy Daneliya with the semicentenary of his film «I Step through Moscow».
Non-official awards were presented to the competitors in the morning on 29th June in press-centre of MIFF which was located in Movie-actor Theatre. Jury prize of International film critique (FIPRESSI) for the best film of the main competition was given to the film «Memories they told me» («A memoria que me contam») by Brasilian producer Lucia Murat. Film «Matterhorn» by the Holland producer Diederik Ebbinge was awarded by an unprecedented number of non-official prizes. This film was mostly preferred by Russian film experts and critics union, federation of film critics and besides it bore away the Audience Award.

This year film screenings within 35th Moscow International Film Festival have seen 72000 people, and 3000 journalist were accredited for the event. Exclusive meetings, showings, and press-conferences were held at 10 Moscow grounds including cinema «October» where all the films of competition and out-of-competition festival programs were demonstrated.
Among special guests of the 35th Moscow International Film Festival were such famous actors as Brad Pitt, Mark Dacascos, Christian Slater and directors Marc Forster and Gabriele Salvatores.
